WHY DOES MY ENGINE NEED OIL?

Oil has three major functions: lubricate, reduce heat, and suspend foreign particles/dust. Put simply, without oil your engine wouldn’t be able to function properly. Extreme friction would be created between the un-lubricated parts causing extreme heat which could lead to your engine seizing or locking up.

Oil contains additives to assist in breaking down corrosive acid, preventing the formation of deposits, and keeping your engine clean. These additives break down over time and become less effective, causing your vehicle to work harder.

WHEN SHOULD I GET AN OIL CHANGE?

We recommend your oil be changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. However, depending on your vehicle type and the type of oil you use this range can vary. If you are aren’t sure whether it’s time for an oil change, swing by our shop and one of our ASE Certified technicians will help you out.
